Harpenden is on the A1081 midway between the City of St Albans and Luton. The Grove is situated 2 miles from the centre of Harpenden at the end of Grove Road. It is marked on Ordnance Survey 1" maps.

1. From North via M1

Exit at junction 10 and follow signposts to Harpenden (A1081). Go through Harpenden and straight on at mini roundabout where Station Road joins A1081. At roundabout turn left into Bull Road and then along Southdown Road (Harpenden Common on right) and under railway arch.

Straight on at first mini-roundabout and at second mini-roundabout straight on into Grove Road. Follow Grove Road through residential area. Pass roundabout keeping left and continue 100 yards to junction of lanes (Pipers Lane/Ayres End Lane).

The Grove entrance (white gate) immediately on left.

2. From the North & East Anglia via the A1

Coming south on the A1, turn off at junction 4 (A414/A6129). Turn left on B653 for Wheathampstead and follow signs for Wheathampstead.

After approx. 3 miles, at roundabout bear left for Wheathampstead/St. Albans, NOT Harpenden. In the Wheathampstead village turn right at mini-roundabout and immediately left up Church Street. At top of hill bear right and after approximately half a mile fork left into Pipers Lane; half a mile to next junction - The Grove entrance (white gates) immediately on right.

(a) If travelling via M1, exit at junction 9, take A5183 to Redbourn and St. Albans. At roundabout take left (B487) to Harpenden (sign posted). Continue on B487 for 2 miles. Straight on at roundabout into Walker's Road, following Wheathampstead signs. Under railway bridge and right at mini-roundabout where Walker's Road joins Southdown Road (from Harpenden). From there to The Grove see note 1 (paragraph 2) above.

(b) If travelling via the A1, shortly after the Hatfield Tunnel turn off at junction 4 (A414/A6129). At main roundabout take second exit marked A6129/B653 Wheathampstead and continue to follow signs to Wheathampstead. For directions to The Grove through Wheathampstead, see note 2 (paragraph 2).

4. From the M25

(a) Coming clockwise around London, turn off at junction 21 onto the M1. From M1 to The Grove, take route in note 1.

(b) Coming anti-clockwise around London, turn off at junction 23 and take the A1 going north. To find The Grove, follow directions in note3 (b).
