The BRIT School - recent
The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology is the UK’s leading independent, state-funded City College for the Technology of the Arts (CCTA), dedicated to education and vocational training for the performing arts, media, art and design and the technologies that make performance possible. Located in Croydon, and founded in 1991 under the auspices of the City Technology Schools initiative and with sponsorship from the British Record Industry Trust (The BRIT Trust), it provides free education and vocational training for 14-19 year old students.
With the celebration of the School’s 25th anniversary in 2016 its leadership is looking forward to the next chapter in its history. While the School receives annual financial support from the BRIT Trust, which helped establish the School, it needs to extend its funding base to ensure its students have the facilities they need. With fundraising on this scale new to the School, Craigmyle was appointed to work alongside the Principal and Director of Communications to prepare, test and help with the initial implementation of a campaign that will enable the School to achieve its goals.
Ripon College Cuddesdon - recent

Beaulieu Convent School Foundation, Jersey - current client
This School’s first major fundraising appeal launched in early 2015. A wide programme of objectives to enhance the campus. The first project, to reorder the main school entrance and road layout to make drop-off and pick-up times of the day safer and more comfortable for all, was completed in the summer holiday 2015. Funds raised to date total £300,000 and the next project is to create a car-free central campus.
Bede’s School - current client
We are providing a strategic development service to guide the school in taking forward their development ambitions. An unusual situation with the prep school being over 100 years old, but the senior school under 40 years old.
Bloxham School - recent
Former client 1964-65, 1983-85, 1994-96, 2000-07, 2010-2011
Our enduring relationship over the course of more than 50 years since 1964, exemplifies the mutual benefits of a long and continuing association. Over the years we have gained a thorough knowledge and understanding of the school’s ethos, staff, pupils, parents and alumni, as well as the fundraising and development context, meaning that a fresh assignment has been able to begin from where the previous one stopped. In turn, Bloxham knows it can look to us for trusted and proven support, backed by a thorough understanding of the school.
We have now helped Bloxham with three capital campaigns, the latest raising more than £2 million. We have most recently helped establish a long-term legacy development programme, primarily to raise endowment funds for bursaries. The response since launching was remarkable, with more than 40 signed-up members of the Egerton Society being recruited within the first year against a target of 25 to 30 members.
Canford School - recent
Canford faced a dilemma when its Fundraising Director decided to move on, shortly before the school – after a period of focused cultivation and relationship building – was due to begin a major capital campaign. It needed to press on with the campaign as swiftly as possible, but lacked the internal resources to do so. One of our consultants became interim Director whilst helping the school recruit a permanent successor. We then provided assistance in planning initiating a major campaign, before handing it over to Canford’s new Development Director.
Elizabeth College, Guernsey - current client
We first worked with the College in 2006 to assist with setting up the Elizabeth College Foundation and prepare for its first fundraising campaign. By mid-2008 the College had raised £1.4 million towards a range of capital projects. From late 2008 to 2010. We guided the establishment of a legacy programme and the creation of the ‘Dead Donkey Club’ for legacy fundraising. In 2011 preparations began for a further capital campaign which by 2013 had delivered a further £1.5 million.
Epsom College - recent
The Red Maids’ School - recent
St Paul's School - recent
The school needed to raise as much as possible towards a very substantial rebuild, likely to cost more than £100 million and requiring the largest capital fundraising campaign for a UK school ever at that time. Realising that fundraising on this scale was uncharted territory, St Paul’s appointed Craigmyle consultants on the strength of two previous successful campaigns, at Manchester Grammar and the Perse School. At the conclusion of service the campaign had raised some £32 million in gifts and firm pledges, including £4m for bursaries.
Vinehall School - recent
Preparatory schools have tended to focus their fundraising on funding facilities but, with fees steadily increasing, the need for means-tested bursaries is no longer confined to independent secondary schools. Vinehall’s governors decided to commemorate its 70th Anniversary with a major fundraising initiative both for facilities (specifically an all-weather sports pitch) and means-tested bursaries, which raised more than £1.12 million.
University of Greenwich - recent
One department needed help and expertise in preparing a bid to a major grant-making institution, but the university’s internal Development Department had neither the time nor resources to take on the assignment. We were able to assist by producing a relevant and convincing case for support and writing the bid.
